Who Wants to Reduce SPAM?
Anybody out there tired of receiving SPAM every
day? Here's a business-class solution that works.
A client once told me that his average employee loses 1/4 hour per day
filtering through SPAM and deleting it. He then drew a formula showing
0.25 * 5 days per week * 52 weeks per year * the number of employees *
the average employee hourly cost and generated his firm's
annual cost of SPAM. The cost was shocking.
At Cameron Park Computer Services, we use Reflexion Total Control
and believe you should too. This is the best SPAM filter I have seen. It
works by acting as a middleman between the sender(s) and your
mailbox. I set mine to add the Subject tag line: "Possible SPAM" to every
message that Reflexion suspects as SPAM. Every message has a
toolbar at the bottom. This lets you add the sender to a whitelist or a
blacklist. We can also add an entire sender's domain to a whitelist (or
blacklist).
Address On the Fly
Reflexion also has an Address on the Fly feature, which: “provides users
with an unlimited supply of alternative addresses, all of which resolve to
a single inbox, are individually manageable with granular security states,
and are automatically managed by the system. While Protective
Addresses can be used in a disposable fashion, they needn't be
disposable, as an address can "live on" for one group of users, while
being disabled for others." We can create an address of
mark.Idonottrustthem.com@cameronparkcomputer.com for transactions
at www.IDoNotTrustThem.com. If I find SPAM coming to that address, I
would know the folks at that site are selling my address.
Which Languages?
"The Permitted Language and Country capabilities can block significant
additional amounts of SPAM by ensuring that users never receive mail in
languages that they can’t speak or from countries outside their
organization’s geographic area of operation.” Do you need to read e-mail
from North Korea or receive any messages in Korean? Me neither.
How To Get It
For those who have received my newsletters for awhile, you’ll remember
me talking about free tactics to reduce the amount of SPAM we receive. I
am afraid that advice is out of date. If you want business-class e-mail
protection, you have to pay $4/mailbox/month. Reflexion is not available
through the publisher’s web site, BestBuy or retail. They sell through
their partners. Cameron Park Computer Services is a Reflexion partner
and can activate e-mail protection for you and your domain. Call today for
the setup.
